The North End is a "stakeholder" for the City of Hamilton's Rapid Transit Initiative, specifically on the A-Line. The A-Line is the proposed rapid transit corridor from the Airport to the Waterfront.
The City of Hamilton states in their letter to NEN "that Rapid Transit is about more that just moving people from place to place. It is about providing a catalyst for the development of hight quality, safe, sustainable and affordable transportation options for our citizens, connections dey destination pints, stimulating economic development and revitalizing Hamilton. Rapid transit planning strives to improve the quality of life for our community and the surrounding environment."
Sheri Selway and another NEN member met with the City consultants and staff for a stakeholder meeting on Dec. 3, making it clear that we were not prepared to take a position or respond to questions regarding the views of the community on Rapid Transit. Instead, we engaged in a discussion based on questions and comments submitted to an on-line survey regarding the North End and Rapid Transit.
Please click on the link below for a short survey about Rapid Transit composed using "Survey Monkey". The survey is only 5 questions will only take a few minutes of your time!

In addition, there have been several articles/opinion pieces/letters to editor in the Hamilton Spectator recently on this issue.
On December 9, the City will be launching the A-Line planning process through a public open house 6 pm to 9 pm at Mountain Arena.
Please attend this information session and help the North End learn about this project, ask question, and make comments.
